Stone Sculpture

I have been drawn to sculpture since making my first bright yellow snake sculpture in Kindergarten.  Never knowing what the pull was until I was introduced to stone carving in college, by Phil Evett.  It became abundantly clear!  The limestone had craggy lines to explore and faults to highlight, roughness to smooth and divots to erase. I work with the stone and what it has to offer.  This leads my work to be highly organic in nature. I work in limestone, alabaster, marbles, calcite… whatever speaks to me at the moment.
